Reviews and news on sustainable materials and renewable technologies.

The Beginning

At the National Center of Excellence on SMART Innovations we are always looking for new ways to educate the masses on the necessity of integrating sustainabilty into all aspects of development. Whether that be through using recycled materials in pavements, decreasing our dependency on non-renewable fossil fuels or uncovering new technologies that drastically decrease our consumption or pollution of our fresh water supply. If you Google ’sustainability’ you’re left to sort through over 117 million webpages. Our goal is to bring you news on sustainable innovation that really counts. Currently our blog is broken down into six categories:

  1. Technology
  2. Materials
  3. Climate
  4. Energy
  5. Society
  6. Policy

Humanity has the ability to make development sustainable-to ensure that it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs (WCED, 1987, 8).

As the concept of sustainability is ever changing the basic structure of the site may need to change as time goes on. If you want to keep current, subscribe to our RSS feed at the bottom of this page. That way you’ll be the first to know of any new developments. If you find a new innovation in sustainability that you think should be included let us know.
