NCE welcomes George Way
Mr. George B. Way, Adjunct Professor with the ASU’s School of Sustainable Engineering & the Built Environment joins the NCE as Senior Research Scientist to assist research initiatives in the areas of sustainable use of scrap tire crumb rubber in pavement materials. Mr. Way is a Chief Engineer at Consulpav, a pavements and materials consulting engineering firm with offices in the USA, Portugal and China.
George is a Chemical Engineer and graduate of ASU. He is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Arizona. He retired as a Chief Pavement Design Engineer from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) after 35 years of service in the Highway Division. His main expertise is in the areas of pavements and sustainable innovations such as asphalt-rubber. George is also an active member of the Rubber Pavements Association (RPA), American Society for Testing & Materials International (ASTM), Pacific Coast Conference on Asphalt Specification (PCCAS), Transportation Research Board (TRB), Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists (AAPT), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) to name a few. He is currently the Chairman of the RPA Technical Advisory Board and Chairman of the non-profit Recycled Tire Engineering and Research Foundation (RTERF). He has given numerous presentations across the world, including, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, France, Sweden, Belgium, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, South Africa, and China.
